Community Health Outreach at Masjid Burhani: Supporting Better Metabolic Health Together

BUZUD was honoured to be part of a Community Health Outreach at Masjid Burhani, where faith, fellowship and health came together in a truly meaningful way. It was a fulfilling day for our team as we joined hands with medical professionals to raise awareness about metabolic health and support the community in taking small but important steps towards healthier living.

Bringing metabolic health awareness into the community

Metabolic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol are increasingly common in Singapore, yet many people still only find out when symptoms appear or during a late‑stage check-up. By bringing this outreach directly into Masjid Burhani, the organisers and healthcare team helped make conversations about metabolic health more approachable, accessible and relevant to everyday life.

Throughout the event, visitors could:

  • Learn more about metabolic health and its impact on long‑term wellbeing
  • Understand the risk factors that can be managed through lifestyle and regular monitoring
  • Ask questions in a friendly, community‑based setting where they felt comfortable and supported

Free health checks for early awareness

One of the core pillars of the outreach was a series of free health checks, conducted with the support of our volunteer nurses and BUZUD’s monitoring devices. These simple screenings gave participants a snapshot of key health indicators related to metabolic health.

For many attendees, it was an important reminder that:

  • Regular checks can help detect issues early, before complications arise
  • Knowing your numbers is the first step to taking control of your health
  • Preventive care can reduce the risk of future problems and support a better quality of life

The health checks also opened up space for one‑to‑one conversations, where individuals could better understand what their readings meant and what next steps might be helpful.

An engaging talk on diabetes management

As part of the programme, the event also featured an engaging talk on diabetes management. This session helped demystify what living with or at risk of diabetes really means in daily life, touching on:

  • The importance of consistent monitoring and follow‑up
  • How diet, physical activity and medication work together
  • Practical tips for making sustainable lifestyle changes

The talk underscored a key message: diabetes management is not just about avoiding certain foods, but about building a realistic, long‑term approach that works for each individual and their family.

How BUZUD’s solutions support healthier living

Throughout the day, BUZUD had the opportunity to share how our medical devices and health solutions can support individuals in managing metabolic health from home and in the community.

We showcased how BUZUD tools can:

  • Make regular monitoring of key parameters simpler and more convenient
  • Provide readings that can be easily shared with doctors for better follow‑up
  • Encourage individuals to stay engaged and proactive about their own health

By combining professional medical guidance with accessible home‑based tools, events like this show how technology can play a supportive role – not replacing clinicians, but helping patients stay on track between visits.

Learning together

The outreach was not just a chance for BUZUD to share; it was also a powerful opportunity for Team BUZUD to learn.

Throughout the day, our team gained valuable insights from the doctors and healthcare professionals present – from how they explain complex topics like metabolic health and diabetes in simple, relatable terms, to the practical challenges they see patients facing at home.

These conversations helped us:

  • Better understand the on‑the‑ground realities of managing metabolic conditions
  • See how our devices and solutions can be further refined to support clinical care and patient education
  • Strengthen our commitment to designing tools that work hand in hand with medical expertise, not in isolation

A meaningful partnership for community health

This outreach was possible thanks to the close collaboration between Masjid Burhani and BUZUD. Each of us played a different role, but all shared the same aim: to make metabolic health awareness and preventive care more reachable for the community.

We are deeply grateful to:

  • The organisers, for inviting us into this meaningful initiative
  • The medical professionals, for their time, expertise and the generous knowledge they shared with us
  • Everyone who came by, took part in the checks, listened to the talk or simply stopped to learn something new

Events like this reaffirm our belief that community spaces are powerful platforms for health education and prevention. BUZUD is proud to have played a part, and we remain committed to supporting similar initiatives that bring healthcare, knowledge and practical tools closer to where people live, worship and gather.

Here’s to more partnerships that help communities stay informed, empowered and healthy together.
