BUZUD at Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress 2025: Innovating and Looking Ahead
What a busy October for BUZUD! After a short break, it’s was back to the grind again for Team BUZUD. This time, BUZUD was part of the Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress (SHBC) 2025, one of the region’s key platforms for healthcare and biomedical professionals to come together, share ideas and explore the future of health.
Across two packed days, the congress brought together clinicians, researchers, innovators and industry partners under one roof. For Team BUZUD, it was a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and share our passion for cutting‑edge healthcare solutions – both at our booth and on stage.
A hub for ideas and inspiration
The atmosphere at SHBC 2025 was nothing short of inspiring. From plenary sessions and scientific presentations to bustling exhibition halls, there was a constant sense of curiosity and momentum. Everywhere you turned, people were exchanging perspectives on how to improve care, push scientific boundaries and translate innovation into real‑world impact.
At the BUZUD booth, we met:
- Long‑time collaborators who have journeyed with us through various events and projects
- New partners exploring how digital health and home monitoring can support their patients
- Curious attendees keen to understand how technology is reshaping everyday healthcare
These interactions reminded us that healthcare is, at its core, a team effort. No single organisation can transform the system alone – it happens through collaboration, dialogue and shared commitment.
Spotlight on thought leadership: A talk by Senior Director Tiwari
Beyond the exhibition floor, BUZUD was also represented on stage. Our Senior Director, Mr Tiwari, delivered a talk that highlighted how Continuous Glucose Monitors is the next biggest discovery since insulin for diabetes. He also delved into how BUZUD’s technology, data and human‑centred design can come together to support a more connected and sustainable healthcare system for people with diabetes.
It was a valuable platform for BUZUD to contribute to the broader conversation on the future of health – not just through products, but through thought leadership and shared learning.
Showcasing AI‑Care: Co‑creating smarter nutrition insights with TTSH
One of the key highlights for BUZUD at SHBC 2025 was also the opportunity to showcase our AI‑Care project, developed in close collaboration with a team of nurses and dieticians from Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).
Together, we worked hand in hand to build an AI food analysis function within the BUZUD app – designed especially for real‑world use in clinics and at home. With just a single photo of a meal, the AI is able to estimate the amount of carbohydrates, fats and protein on the plate.
This means that instead of manually guessing or counting, patients and healthcare professionals can:
- Get quick, data‑driven insights into the nutritional breakdown of everyday meals
- Make more informed decisions about portion sizes and dietary choices
- Support chronic disease management, such as diabetes and cardiovascular conditions, with clearer nutrition information
What makes AI‑Care special is not just the technology itself, but the way it was created – shaped directly by frontline nurses and dietitians who understand the realities of patient education, time constraints and behaviour change. Their clinical expertise and on‑the‑ground experience helped ensure that the feature is not only clever, but also practical, intuitive and meaningful for both patients and care teams.
By bringing AI‑Care to SHBC 2025, we were able to demonstrate how AI, clinical knowledge and user‑centred design can come together to support more personalised, sustainable approaches to nutrition and long‑term health.
Showcasing BUZUD’s latest healthcare innovations
Alongside AI‑Care, SHBC 2025 was also a chance for us to showcase our broader range of innovations and demonstrate how BUZUD is contributing to a more connected, proactive and patient‑centred healthcare ecosystem.
At our booth, visitors got a closer look at:
- Smart health monitoring devices designed for accuracy, reliability and everyday usability
- Digital platforms and AI‑driven tools that turn raw data into meaningful, actionable insights
- Integrated approaches for home‑based and community care, supporting patients beyond the hospital walls
Our team walked visitors through real‑world use cases – from chronic disease management and telemonitoring to community screenings and preventive health programmes. The focus was always the same: how do we make life easier for clinicians and better for patients?
On‑site health checks with BUZUD devices
In addition to our booth showcase and AI‑Care demonstration, BUZUD also conducted on‑site health checks at SHBC 2025. Using our range of monitoring devices, attendees could have simple, quick screenings done on the spot – from basic vital signs to key parameters relevant for long‑term health.
These checks served as a practical bridge between technology and day‑to‑day wellbeing. They opened up conversations about preventive care, early detection and how regular monitoring – whether in a clinical setting or at home – can help individuals and care teams spot issues earlier, adjust treatment plans and ultimately improve quality of life.
Meaningful conversations with the brightest minds
What truly stood out at SHBC 2025 was the quality of conversations we had. We engaged with some of the brightest minds in health and biomedical science – people who are driving research, informing policy and shaping models of care.
With each conversation, we explored questions such as:
- How can health data be harnessed in a way that is secure, ethical and clinically useful?
- What does truly integrated care look like from the perspective of both hospital and community?
- How can we design solutions that are simple for patients, yet powerful enough for healthcare professionals?
These exchanges were not just intellectually stimulating; they were deeply practical. Attendees shared on‑the‑ground realities, from time pressures in clinics to challenges in patient engagement. Their perspectives will continue to guide us as we refine our solutions and plan future developments.
Reconnecting with old friends, building new bridges
For Team BUZUD, SHBC 2025 also felt like a reunion and a fresh beginning rolled into one.
We reconnected with partners we have worked with over the years – catching up on new initiatives and evolving needs on the ground. At the same time, we met many new faces from hospitals, clinics, academia and industry who were encountering BUZUD for the first time.
Those spontaneous “hello, what does this do?” moments often turned into thoughtful discussions about new innovations and shared goals: healthier populations, smoother care journeys and smarter use of technology. It was a strong reminder that the healthcare community in Singapore and the region is both tight‑knit and forward‑looking.
Building the future of health together
As the congress drew to a close, we left SHBC 2025 with a renewed sense of purpose. The two days reinforced what we have always believed:
- Innovation is most powerful when it is created with purpose
- Technology must always serve people, not processes alone
- The future of healthcare will be built by many hands, many perspectives and many partnerships
BUZUD is proud to have played a part in this year’s Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to attend Mr Tiwari’s talk, visit our booth, learn about AI‑Care or simply stop for a conversation.
We look forward to turning these connections and insights into tangible collaborations – and to continuing our work alongside TTSH and the wider healthcare and biomedical community to build a smarter, more compassionate and more resilient future of health.
